For over 20 years I have worked with a diverse range of issues and people in Austin and New Orleans. In addition to treating depression and anxiety, I have extensive experience helping people work through traumatic life events such as childhood abuse, sudden loss, diagnosis of serious illness, or social rejection and isolation.
I offer individual, couple, family and group therapy. I also teach as an adjunct professor at Tulane School of Social Work and do contracted supervision for therapists who do not have advanced licensure. I authored the book, Sexual Abuse and the Culture of Catholicism; Routledge, 2007.Contact Myra Hidalgo, LCSW

I have experience offering yoga therapy to clients recovering from depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse, PTSD, eating disorders, body image issues and grief as well as those seeing personal growth and self-empowerment. I love supporting others to become more alive in their bodies and more accepting of themselves through the process of yoga therapy and yoga. As a visual artist I am acquainted with how yoga can support the creative process and foster living with joy and authenticity.
I became a certified Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapist in 2008 . I am also certified as a Phoenix Rising Group Facilitator, and Yoga Teacher . I am registered with Yoga Alliance as an E-RYT 200, RYT 500 with training at the Shambhava School of Yoga and the Phoenix Rising Center. I also guide deeply relaxing Yoga Nidra and restorative yoga experiences.
